What's orthodontia?

Orthodontics

Orthodontics is a medical specialty aimed at moving teeth and changing the position of the jaws using orthodontic appliances. These treatments are adapted to different audiences, including children, the teenagers, to adults (including invisible lingual orthodontics Invisalign).

Orthodontic treatment

Orthodontic treatment will help improve facial balance as well as the functions of chewing, swallowing, breathing and speaking. Aligning your teeth will allow you to obtain a magnificent smile and will also facilitate better dental hygiene, avoiding cavities and bleeding gums.

There are two types of orthodontic treatment: braces and aligners.

The rings are small

Braces are small attachments glued to the external (conventional orthodontics) or internal (lingual orthodontics) side of the teeth. These brackets are called “orthodontic braces”. The braces can be metal or ceramic and transparent. The movement of the teeth takes place along an arc whose shape makes it possible to guide the movement. This arc is changed regularly depending on the movements that we wish to obtain.

The gutters are transparent, almost invisible and removable. They will be changed every two weeks. Each tray is individually made and tailor-made for your teeth. Your teeth shift little by little, week by week, until you move on to the next tray.
